This wand is another little thing I've made for the soon coming steampunk festival. Ze BFF and I are going to do a steampunk take on "Harry Potter" - RavenMontoya
as a Slytherin and me as a Gryffindor - but I need a wand for that, and I can't think of one better suited for a Gryffindor than the snake-eater. (Also, the king cobra is my favorite snake.)
The cobra is Super Sculpey over steel wire and a bit of tinfoil, "painted" with metallic wax, and wrapped around a wooden core, which I laquered black. It measures about 35 cm (13.8 in.) in total.
Hopefully we'll have some awesome photo's of the entire outfits in a few weeks. Edit: Contrary to popular assumption, the inspiration for this is simply an idea I got. We decided on a Harry Potter theme quite late, so it became a challenge of putting an outfit together with what was readily available, but I was not about to show up without a wand. The various online sorting hats can't quite seem to decide whether I'm Slytherin or Gryffindor, so I wanted a wand symbolizing that, and came up with a golden and red (the Gryffindor colors) snake that eats other snakes. I modelled the scales after the king cobra, but when Raven suggested the name "Naja", I loved it, so the wand became Ophiophagus Naja. I sadly don't have the time to give individual thanks anymore, but I appreciate every fav and comment I get, so if you feel like giving either one, then thank you so much! I'll answer comments as soon as I can.
